Pioneering 24/7 Indoor Golf & Winning Big on the GOLFZON Tour

When Ryan Wines launched Golf Envy in Los Angeles, he wasn’t just opening a golf facility—he was creating a new way to experience the game. Recognizing that busy schedules often keep golfers off the course, Ryan designed a private, 24/7-access model that lets members play when it works for them.

Now, Golf Envy is making waves not just in LA, but across the country—with new locations in development across the nation. And their success goes beyond business—Team Golf Envy won the $150,000 grand prize in Season 1 of the GOLFZON Tour which took place on the 2025 PGA Show floor, proving they’re at the top of the indoor golf game.

In this Customer Spotlight, we’ll explore how Ryan and his team built Golf Envy, why GOLFZON simulators were the key to their success, and how their members—ranging from first-time players to serious competitors—are thriving in this innovative golf environment.

Q: Ryan, what inspired the Golf Envy concept?

Ryan: “We discovered some of the issues that most golfers have, and it’s that they just can’t consume it in the way that they want to. And so our model, Golf Envy, is a way to allow most golfers to be able to consume golf.”

Q: What makes Golf Envy different from other indoor golf facilities?

Ryan: “We’re a little different than most of the other clubs. We’re golf only. No food and beverage. Our members have access via an app to book online, to book their tee time, and to come in anytime they want. Literally 24/7.”

Q: Why do you think the 24/7 model works so well?

Ryan: “This indoor golf isn’t always about weather, it’s about time. You know, it’s our most valuable asset. So for a lot of our members, it’s about the time. It’s the ability to get in and get out. We all don’t have 3-5 hours or whatever it takes to play a round in your neighborhood. And so we have to do it as we can. So this space allows them to do that. They book it right on their phone. They have access control via their phone. They come in and they play golf whenever, all the time.”

Q: How did you know Golf Envy was a success?

Ryan: “We just had such a response to it, I knew we got it right. Immediately, immediately we knew we got it right.”

Q: Who are your members, and what impact has Golf Envy had on them?

Ryan: “We have members that are 12 years old, we have members that are 84 years old. So everywhere in between: male, female, you know just families, we have husbands and wives, we have children learning. Members are now making friends. They’re attending events together, they’re playing green-grass golf together, they’re playing rounds, they’re going on golf trips, all the things that we do as golfers. They met here, which is amazing.”

Q: What’s next for Golf Envy?

Ryan: “We’ve got facilities all over the country in development. So we’ve got Scottsdale, AZ going, we have stuff up north—Denver, Nashville, Florida. We’re going to be everywhere—Houston, Dallas. So it’s going to be fun. There’s going to be Envys everywhere.”

Q: Collin, how is Golf Envy introducing new players to the game?

Collin Boldig, Clubhouse Manager of Golf Envy: “The amount of people that are coming to me doing demos... they are coming and saying they have never even played golf before. ...They are telling me that their very first round is actually happening on a GOLFZON simulator is mind-blowing.”
